You’ve heard about YouTube bringing some people fortune and fame. Justin Bieber? Susan Boyle? Sites such as YouTube allow anyone with a camera and a computer to create and post their own video. So, do YouTube and other participatory forms of social media empower us? Do they allow everyone to speak their voice and to forge their own path? Or, do they give us a false sense of reality?
