Metanoia is an archival examination of community-based responses to the ongoing AIDS crisis.
The exhibition highlights the contributions of Black cis and trans women, and cis and trans women of color impacted by HIV, many of whom have had experiences within the criminal justice system.
Too often these stories are found only at the margins of art shows, history books, and documentaries — but for us, the four curators of this show, their lives, records, and stories are central.
